What Is SEO Anyway Why Do I Need It?

SEO stands for search engine optimization. That means getting your site to show up on the first page of Google for your key word. If you have ever used Google, yahoo or any other search engine, you will notice that some websites are on the 1st page. To get there is hard work, especially for the keyword you’re trying to promote. For example let’s say your website is about fishing. There are litteraly millions of websites that are also about fishing.

The websites that show up on the first page for that keyword fishing, will get a flood of visitors. There is a good chance the owner will be dancing in the streets. Why, because the probability of making a sale just went up 95%. So SEO is huge.

Page ranking can be very tricky, you can be on the 1st page one day, and the next day not even show up anywhere, gone forever, start the funeral music, another business just bit the dust. Why, ( because Google changes the rules from time to time) And to make matters worse they don’t announce it before they do it. They announce it after they have made the changes. I have heard stories about businesses being shut down over night. This is known back in the day as a Google Slap.

The graphic on this page gives you an idea on how SEO works. How do you get a first page ranking? You have to create quality content, get backlinks to your site, and good social media skills. Being consistent with new content is also a step in the right direction. We will go deeper, into SEO and what it involves soon, so stay tune.

You might of heard of the term auto responder. It’s just that, it automatically respond when you subscribe to an email. Here is an example, you go to a website and they ask you if you want to join they’re mailing list.

When you put in your name and email address and click send, you will get an automatic response in your email, saying thanks for joining our list, and get more information on the group you’ve just joined. Then a few days later you get another email from the same person about the topic of your choice. Those emails are called auto responders.

There is monthly cost, some range from $10.00 to $15.00 a month and up.
Here is a list of some of the most popular.

Once you set up a sequence of emails to send to your clients, you don’t have to worry anymore about writing emails every other day. If you plan it right, you can set this up to go to your list, every other day or so and give them valuable information. Yes, it takes work to write the content, or you can get someone from Fiverr to do it for you. Either way once it set, you don’t have to worry about it for a while. I even herd some business owners set up weeks of email in advance. You can still provide content even on vacation. That’s the power of the autoresponder.
